It seems like our neighbourhood is dotted/littered with bakeries. From the first week of walking around, I would say that there would have to be at least ten bakeries in a 10-minute walking radius.
Yes, we are living downtown, but still…
We’re still trying to figure out which of these are actually bakeries as opposed to mere bread shops, i.e. where are they actually making dough and baking bread on site as opposed to getting ready-made dough delivered and just baking or even warming it up.
There is alway a great variety of bread, mostly Graubrot, the darker, whole wheat bread. There are often all kinds of sweets as well. Many of the breads we’ve tried are great, though no clear favourites (location or taste) have emerged yet.
